Game Developers Sued In Texas For Alleged Patent Infringement.

borderlandsTwelve lawsuits were filed against video game developers and publishers this week in Texas federal district court, alleging patent infringement by incorporation of a patented method into popular video game releases.

The single plaintiff in all actions is the purported assignee of the sole patent at issue.  Overly simplified, the patented technology is a method by which multiple users can simultaneously control and contribute to data displayed on a single, shared computer screen (through multiple input devices).    Among the defendants  are 505 Games Interactive, Inc. (Backbreaker), Riot Games, Inc. (League of Legends), Activision Blizzard Inc. (GoldenEye 007) and Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (Borderlands 2).
